Pantone - Cloud Dancer

Pantone has announced its Color of the Year for 2026: Cloud Dancer, a soft, muted white. While the choice may feel unexpected, it carries a message that resonates deeply with today’s fast-paced world. White is seen as a blank canvas, a fresh start, a moment of pause that allows us to reset and begin again.

In interiors, white brightens a space, evokes calm, and offers visual rest. Over the next year, we expect a renewed emphasis on white in design, paired with organic forms and textures, such as white ceramics, stone, and sculptural shapes. Though it may seem trendy, white has always been timeless: white kitchen cabinetry, marble and quartz countertops, airy linen curtains, and crisp gallery walls never go out of style.

How to pair Cloud Dancer: You can lean into a timeless palette of white, gray, and blue, which works beautifully in almost any space while maintaining a sense of serenity and subtle interest. Alternatively, pairing white with natural wood tones creates a warmer, more organic feel.

Sherwin-Williams - Universal Khaki

Sherwin-Williams’ Color of 2026, Universal Khaki, is a soothing soft neutral that plays well with muted palettes and is exceptionally decorating-friendly. Once again, we see not just a passing trend but a timeless tone with lasting appeal.

In interiors, Universal Khaki transitions effortlessly from wall colors to upholstery, working harmoniously with warm neutrals, sage greens, and dusty navy blues.

Benjamin Moore - Silhouette

Benjamin Moore introduces a darker choice for 2026 with Silhouette, yet the shared theme with Pantone and Sherwin-Williams remains clear: neutrals with depth. Silhouette is a refined charcoal that feels soft rather than stark, even with its higher contrast.

Painting walls a dark hue may sound bold, but when paired with crisp white trim and light wood floors, Silhouette creates a serene, harmonious atmosphere. Add gold finishes, and the warm charcoal looks especially elevated and sophisticated. For a pop of color, burnt orange and forest green are great choices.

Behr - Hidden Gem

Behr’s Color of the Year, Hidden Gem, is the only non-neutral on this list. It's a beautifully muted teal that is interesting without overwhelming a space. It partners seamlessly with neutrals and works well as a wall color, painted cabinetry, or an accent furniture piece.

Trendy Yet Timeless

When designing an interior, the goal is often to create spaces that feel current yet remain relevant as trends evolve. All four of these 2026 colors strike that balance. They are not only on-trend for the year ahead but also serve as foundational hues in classic, enduring design schemes that are beautiful today and for years to come.
